Join SPH Careers for a conversation with Dr. Laura Maurer - the Senior Advisor in Sustainability, focusing on Plastics & Product Life Cycle at ExxonMobil. Laura will tell her career journey from her MPH and PhD in Toxicology at University of Michigan to her current role, share her advice for navigating a career in the private sector, and answer questions from students. Please make sure to read Laura's bio and come prepared to introduce yourself and ask questions! Alum Bio: Dr. Laura Maurer has worked at ExxonMobil for 9 years. She holds a PhD and MPH in Toxicology from the University of Michigan. Before joining ExxonMobil, Laura completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University. At ExxonMobil, she initially served as a Toxicologist in ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences (EMBSI), where she supported various sectors including chemical intermediates, polymers, basic chemicals, and lubricants. Her expertise extends to occupational exposure limits, product registrations with regulatory authorities, and research programs through trade organizations. Currently, Laura is the Senior Advisor in Sustainability, focusing on Plastics & Product Life Cycle at ExxonMobil.
