Office of Educational Programs

The School of Public Health Office of Educational Programs is a complex unit responsible for overseeing school-wide academic and co-curricular programs, curriculum, academic policies and proceedures, and providing instructional media and design infrastructure.  We are made up of 9 different units focused on a wide range of educational support.

Office of the Senior Associate Dean for Education

The Senior Associate Dean for Education is Professor Sharon L. R. Kardia, PhD the Millicent W. Higgins Collegiate Professor of Epidemiology.  The Office of the Senior Associate Dean for Education supports the work of school's Advisory Council on Academic Programs (ACAP), maintains the schools academic policies & procedures (including the academic misconduct and student grievence processes), and provides general administrative support for the staff in the Office of Educational Programs.

Curriculum and Policy

Advisory Comittee on Academic Programs (ACAP)

The Advisory Committee on Academic Programs, also known as ACAP, is a committee structured around ensuring courses, programs, and policies are aligned with the School of Public Health's educational goals.  With faculty members from each department to help guide and support, ACAP represents one step in improving the education we provide for the students of the University of Michigan.  To learn more, click the link here!

Office of Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs includes Student Life, Career Services, Recruiting & Admissions, and the Registrar.   Student Life focuses on student wellbeing through student coaching and cultivating community through student organizations, social events, and co-curricular programming. Career Servicese focuses  on helping students with career exploration, preparation, and connections, as well as internships and experiential learning.  Recruiting & Admissions supports the school's recruiting activities, admissions infrastructure, and processes.  The Registrar is responsible for monitoring and certifying students academic and degree progress.  The office is led by Rachel Casanova, Director of Student Affairs.  Follow the link provided to learn more!

Office of Public Health Practice

The Office of Public Health Practice and Global Engagement aims to support public health capacity through experiential learning, workforce development, and community-academic partnerships, globally and locally. Pathways To Public Health

Pathways to Public Health is a health literacy initiative at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Our mission is to enhance public health literacy in all communities by intentionally increasing access to state-of-the-art public health education, training, and engagement opportunities to, thereby, create a well-positioned cadre of public health-engaged practitioners, researchers, educators, and populace that act as leaders and change agents to achieve health for all.  Follow the link to learn more (coming soon)!

Office of Integrative Learning and Accreditation

The Office of Integrative Learning and Accreditation works with the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) to ensure the University of Michigan School of Public Health meets all academic and educational standards to maintain themselves as an accredited college.  The School of Public Health was last accredited in 2019 and is set to renew their accreditation in 2027.
